1. Who we are
makermap is a project-management service operated from makermap.io. Every capability of the product is available both through the web application and over the Model Context Protocol, so an AI agent you connect can do what you can do, within the permissions you grant it.
We have not yet incorporated a company. These terms are published by makermap and the registered entity and governing law will be named here once one exists. Until then, nothing in this document should be read as choosing a jurisdiction on your behalf.
2. Your account
You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for what happens under it, including what agents you connect do with the tokens you issue them. Tokens are shown once and stored hashed; if you lose one, revoke it and issue another.
You must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and you must not share one account between people who are not on the same team - seats exist for that.
3. Your content is yours
You keep every right you have in what you put into makermap: products, decisions, documents, logs, tasks and everything else. We do not claim ownership and we do not use your content to train models.
We process it to run the service for you - storing it, indexing it so search works, showing it to the people and agents you have given access, and backing it up. Semantic search is computed by a model that runs on our own infrastructure; your content is not sent to a third-party AI provider by the product itself. What an agent YOU connect does with what it reads is between you and whoever operates that agent.
You can export a workspace whole, at any time, in a format that can be restored. That is deliberate: an export you cannot leave with is not an export.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use makermap to break the law, to store or distribute material you have no right to, to attack the service or anybody else through it, or to resell access to people who are not on your plan.
We may suspend an account that is doing one of those things, or that is consuming so much of a shared resource that other customers are affected. Where we can, we will tell you first.
5. Plans, payment and tax
Paid plans are sold through Paddle.com Market Ltd, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle handles the payment, issues the invoice and settles any VAT or sales tax, so your payment relationship for the transaction is with them; their terms apply to the payment itself.
Prices are shown before you buy. Taxes may be added at checkout depending on where you are. A plan renews for the same period until it is cancelled.
6. Changing plans, cancelling and refunds
An upgrade takes effect immediately. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for - we do not take away time you bought.
Cancelling always runs to the end of the paid period, and your data is not confiscated when it ends: an account that falls back to the free plan keeps everything it created and simply stops being entitled to the paid limits. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available, but we do not promise it will never be down. We may change or withdraw features. When a change removes something you rely on, we will give notice where it is practical to do so, and an export is always available.
Some features are marked as new, beta or preview. Those may change or disappear with less notice, which is what the label is for.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using makermap at any time and delete your account from the interface.
We may terminate an account for a serious or repeated breach of section 4, or if we are required to by law. Except where the law requires otherwise, unused prepaid time is refunded if we terminate your account for a reason other than your breach.
9. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for data you did not export. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited - including for death, personal injury or fraud.
Where our liability is limited, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the event.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will tell account owners by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that is acceptance.
